There’s something magical about how simple folds of colorful kite paper can bring the beauty of fall into your space. These cute and simple acorns turn any window into a celebration of fall, catching the sunlight and filling a room with warmth. Easy enough for children to make, this craft is a perfect way to bring Waldorf-inspired creativity into your home or classroom.

Gather Your Supplies
- Kite paper
- Scissors
- Glue
Craft your Own Kite Paper Acorn
Step 1:
Pick out the colors of the kite paper you would like your acorn to be.

Step 2:
Fold your kite paper in half, and open.


Step 3:
Turn 90 degrees and fold in half. Open.


Step 4:
Fold the bottom to the middle. Crease and open.


Step 5:
Do the same on opposite side.


Step 6:
Turn 90 degrees. Fold to middle and open.


Step 7:
Do the same on the opposite side.


Step 8:
Cut one strip. Fold the two corners in.


Step 9:
With your other paper, fold in half. Open.


Step 10:
Turn 90 degrees and fold in half. Open.


Step 11:
Fold the bottom to the middle. Open.


Step 12:
Do the same on opposite side.


Step 13:
Turn 90 degrees. Fold to middle and open.


Step 14:
Fold down top two corners to center. Rotate 180 degrees and fold top two corners to smaller box. Your piece should look like the picture above. Glue down the flaps.


Step 15:
Glue your dark strip onto your base so that it aligns. Glue a small strip on the back so that its sticks up slightly from the acorn.


Step 16:
Your acorn is finished! Have fun decorating your autumn windows.

Step 17:
Layer with other seasonal folds for a beautiful window display.
